Using the Group Policy Editor (For
Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education editions):
a.
Press Win + R
on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
b. Type gpedit.msc
and press Enter to open the Group Policy Editor.
c. Navigate to
"Computer Configuration" > "Administrative Templates"
> "Windows Components" > "Windows Update."
d. In the right pane,
double-click on "Configure Automatic Updates."
e. In the pop-up window,
select "Disabled" to turn off automatic updates.
f. Click
"Apply" and then "OK" to save your changes.

Using the Registry Editor (For all
Windows 10 editions):
a.
Press Win + R
to open the Run dialog.
b. Type regedit
and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
c. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
(If the "WindowsUpdate" key doesn't exist, you can create it by
right-clicking on the "Windows" key, selecting New > Key, and
naming it "WindowsUpdate").
d. Right-click on the
"WindowsUpdate" key (or the one you just created), select New >
DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it "AUOptions."
e. Double-click on
"AUOptions" and set its value to "2" to disable automatic
updates.
f. Click "OK"
to save the change.
Using the Windows Update Service (For advanced users,
not recommended for beginners):
a.
Press Win + R
to open the Run dialog.
b. Type services.msc
and press Enter.
c. Scroll down to find
"Windows Update" in the list of services.
d. Right-click on
"Windows Update" and select "Properties."
e. In the "Startup
type" dropdown menu, select "Disabled."
f. Click
"Apply" and then "OK" to save the change.
Remember that disabling Windows updates
can leave your system vulnerable to security threats. It's advisable to only disable automatic.
updates temporarily if you have a specific reason, and make sure to enable them
again, and install updates regularly to keep your system secure.
